EVERS & GAVERS
The Lee County Coroner’s Office is in both the EVERS (Alabama) and GAVERS (Georgia) electronic death certificate systems.
We typically complete death certificates within 48 hours of them being assigned to us. If its been more than 48 hours since you created the death certificate and it has not been signed, please contact us.
Pending Death Certificates
As you know pending death certificates cost the same amount as final death certificates, but pending death certificates can not be used for many things such as life insurance. Therefore, to cut down on confusion for families we only issue pending death certificates when specifically requested and we ask that you full explain the difference between a pending death certificate and a final death certificate to the family.
Out of Town Funeral Homes
If you do not have access to EVERS for Alabama Death Certificates or GAVERS for Georgia Death Certificates, please contact a local funeral home and request assistance.
